Sherwood Park's 360 Fitness raises more than $60K for Little Warriors
Over five days in September, 360 Fitness held its annual Trainer Revenge event at its Sherwood Park location at 208 Sioux Road and raised more than $60,000 for Little Warriors. Sherwood Park's 360 Fitness in Red Deer, Alberta raised more than $60K for Little Warriors this week, with another $21,000 raised by the Red Deer location for the Central Alberta Child Advocacy Centre. The gym's clients were able to donate their funds through the charities and the coaches got to work out for each dollar raised. The event highlighted the power of community and the importance of giving back to worthy causes. Most of the funds will go directly to the Be Brave Ranch, a private ranch for kids who have been sexually or physically abused.

“The week is pretty intense but very rewarding,” explained Jack Wheeler, CEO of 360 Fitness, adding that the event highlighted the power of community. With another $21,000 raised by the Red Deer location for the Central Alberta Child Advocacy Centre, more than $81,500 was raised for charity. The gym’s clients were able to get a little revenge for each dollar raised. “Trainer Revenge is all about clients purchasing and donating workouts to our coaches to get revenge back on them nowadays. Our coaches put their bodies on the line for two to three hours for five days straight and gets sweaty to give back to a worthy cause,” he said. “We had a menu of exercises clients can choose to donate their funds through the charities and the coaches got to work.”
“Our coaches were a little worried on the first day when we saw the workouts we had to do, but it was good after that. It is absolutely amazing because we started as a small ma and pa gym in Red Deer and in our first couple years, we raised $2,000, $3,000 and then $4,000 a year and it was incredible. To see these numbers now and the ripples of this is amazing.” Wheeler said they did not expect to raise so much this year but Wheeler is so proud of the coaches and clients for such an amazing effort. “Last year, we hit a huge threshold at $78,000 between the two studios and we thought that was the peak but our client’s generosity seems to be at an all-time high and we’ve hit more than $80,000,” Wheeler said. “We raised $54,000 in Sherwood Park alone last year.”
Wheeler said the gym instilled its sense of community. “We try to do this every year but with COVID the last few years have been up and down but we try to have an annual event in September,” he said. “Little Warriors has been our charity of choice for four years now and we have a really good relationship with them. It really means a lot to us personally and our members. We like to give to local charities where we can see the local dollars in action. With Little Warriors, most of these funds will go directly to the Be Brave Ranch and it is a private ranch for kids who have been sexually or physically abused where they can go and get refuge, be safe and be with people who care.”
