Edmonton weather: First 'significant' snowfall expected tonight

Environment Canada (ECC) has issued a warning for significant snowfall expected tonight in Edmonton, Alberta, with forecasters predicting a significant amount of snowfall. Forecasters predict that temperatures will vary significantly across the province due to initially warm ground temperatures and the duration of the snowfall over some regions. The weather station at the Edmonton Blatchford weather station is expected to be at -1.3 C at the time with 10 km/h winds out of the northeast. The forecast is also predicted that central Alberta will see 2 to 5 cm of snow by Tuesday morning, while people in south Alberta can expect to see 5 to 15 cm. Temperatures are expected to drop as well, with a forecast high of -3 C tomorrow but feeling closer to -9.

Folks living in central Alberta can expect to see 2 to 5 cm of snow by Tuesday morning, while people living in south Alberta can expect to see 5 to 15 cm. “Be prepared to adjust your driving with changing road conditions. Rapidly accumulating snow could make travel difficult over some locations. If visibility is reduced while driving, slow down, watch for tail lights ahead and be prepared to stop.” Temperatures are expected to take a tumble as well, with a forecast high of -3 C tomorrow but feeling closer to -9 with the windchill.
