Forecasters predict that temperatures will vary significantly across the province due to initially warm ground temperatures and the duration of the snowfall over some regions. The weather station at the Edmonton Blatchford weather station is expected to be at -1.3 C at the time with 10 km/h winds out of the northeast. The forecast is also predicted that central Alberta will see 2 to 5 cm of snow by Tuesday morning, while people in south Alberta can expect to see 5 to 15 cm. Temperatures are expected to drop as well, with a forecast high of -3 C tomorrow but feeling closer to -9.

Here we go — forecasters are calling for the first significant snowfall of the season in Alberta beginning tonight. “Snow will develop over west-central Alberta tonight and move towards the east and south on Monday,” a ECCC special weather statement reads. “Snowfall amounts will vary greatly across the province due to initially warm ground temperatures and the duration of snowfall over some regions.”

Folks living in central Alberta can expect to see 2 to 5 cm of snow by Tuesday morning, while people living in south Alberta can expect to see 5 to 15 cm. “Be prepared to adjust your driving with changing road conditions. Rapidly accumulating snow could make travel difficult over some locations. If visibility is reduced while driving, slow down, watch for tail lights ahead and be prepared to stop.” Temperatures are expected to take a tumble as well, with a forecast high of -3 C tomorrow but feeling closer to -9 with the windchill.
